Being a fresh graduate many of you might get confused between a PGDM course and an MBA program. Some of you even think both are the same, but it’s not true. Likewise names, even the degrees have difference. Here is the post written for you which explores a PGDM course and an MBA program.
PGDM course: Post Graduate Diploma in Management is a course offered by various colleges and institutes. Because they aren’t affiliated with any college or universities, they are called diploma and not MBA program, as MBA is offered by colleges affiliated with universities. Besides, the syllabus of a PGDM Course is more practical or industry oriented in comparison to MBA ones. In addition to this, their curriculum is bound to change from time to time. Yes of course, one thing is common that MBA and PGDM both allow you to specialize in the area of your interest.
MBA program: We all know that MBA is a post-graduation course offered by colleges affiliated with the universities. The two year curriculum is meant to focus on theoretical aspects such as finance, operations and HR. Although it is always advisable to choose the best college in town, and one of the essential advantage of doing such program is you will be able to do Ph.D. without worrying about the reputation of the college.
After studying both ways, I think opting for a PGDM course is more relevant as it offers theoretical as well as practical knowledge and most importantly it focuses on the industrial needs. Apart from this MBA on the other hand is quite rigid and impossible to change. Lastly students can work in both private as well as public sectors.
